Still unemployed, scam awareness and wading through societal fecal matter

Writer: Tom MundsTom Munds

Hey Everyone, I am sorry for posting what seems to be irrelevent content compared to the usual but I have always desired to be open, honest and up front in sharing thoughts and experiences I have so you

you could consider them in your own lives and share them with others if desired.

Today, I should mention that this is week 7 of being unemployed. Not only has it been demoralizing and discouraging, it gets worse and, if I may say it, abusive. Who knew when you are jobless (as if it wasn't enough) you had to lose a sense of who you are, but when you review job boards and give them your email address, you would be exploited by all that have it. God help you if you offer up your phone number as many desperate people do in trying to find a job. Then you get your junk box filled with suggestive porn links "Hey, I am horny tonight" or "check out my booty" or worse. You not only get these via email, you even get them on your phone, and trying to rid your devices of what you walked into is more than anyone wants or bargained for... All just to find a job? Seriously?

Oh! Wait, there is more! Not only are scams everywhere, but they have managed to seemingly take over the job search boards and are getting very good at it too. If you can maintain your composure as you search for a job, I hope you can deal with all that the process brings with it. Anyway, since I am here, I wanted to mention something that you should know about since it is fresh in my mind.

Yes, my job search continues... and unemployment scams like "Dr. James Whitewood" and Ashfield Medcomms are everywhere, and although the scams are mentioned on the web, specifics are not, which is why I chose to post it here, so forgive a deviation from the norm, please...

With the advent of AI and the new technologies to "simplify our lives," it seems to me that few, if anyone, is bucking this system. After all, it breeds corruption, misinformation, and devastates markets. How can corporations or small employers support this process?

Not only AI and Affirmative Action and the Adherence to DEI but the overwhelming multitude of scams is overwhelming and stifling.

Out of almost 100 resumes, I received invitations for only 2 jobs, but, in the process, I was targeted by a scam that is all over the internet, but only stated in general terms, nothing specific. Today, I thought I would expose my vulnerability and the scam in more detail.

Suffice it to say here that I was on Indeed and found a solicitation as a manager for Ashfield Medcomms. I was contacted by a woman via email by the name of Mary Lorre marylorre92@gmail.com, she referred me to Dr. James Whitewood for a Teams interview (via chat - no red flag there!) and I had to invite him and enter a passcode, and she also posted his email address (jameswhitewood5@gmail.com). I desided to take the bait and conversed with him anyway. Long story short, he told me he would send me a check to purchase equipment for a small office, and just this morning gave me a tracking number via USPS that is legit. However, I called Ashfield, and they said it was a scam. I even went to Ashfield's website, and they, being aware of the scam, listed the process of onboarding with the company, and that was all that was needed, if you didn't believe it then, you would now.

I posted this here hoping it will offer more specifics than reading people scream "it is a scam" when so few, if anyone even mentions anything else or mentions any specifics. I can't find Dr. James Whitewood anywhere on the internet, I copied the Teams correspondence and emails and wish to help others avoid such scams, but I felt it was better to be as specific as I could listing names, since when you look up Ashfield, it shows up but the job doesn't but Dr. James, is nowhere. I hope by posting it here than when someone types it in, they will find my post. I do need to state clearly Ashfield is NOT the scam, they are a legit company, but the scam was to use the company to extort money from desperate unsuspecting prospective employees by cashing the check and either having to return part of the money or having the scammer put a stop check leaving you holding the debt that the bank wants you to pay back. I also read that is a federal offense to deposit a fraudelent check. Big surprise that part in parcel to the feds abusive idelogy that the "little guy" gets hammered rather than the perpetrator. Apparently 100's of thousands of people looking for work can be and have been faced with prison time. Wow, that is comforting. It is a mine field out there and who would know this unless you werre unemployed or read about it. As much as I know, I was even surprisedd it went this deep.

So, as the job search continues, and I wade through the societal fecal matter of a corrupt world ( that only seems concerned with corrupt politicians and not themselves), this knowledge could and should offer some intellectual realignment. Did you know most men due to a lack of meaningful employment are experiencing the relative destruction of one's confidence and ability to function the best way they can? It is truly demoralizing in so many ways not having the job alone much less having to deal with scams and spam along with it, one could tend to give up or ease up on their desire to persevere.

Make no mistake though, I am still clear-headed and ready to work as hard as I always have. My position, although I have done a lot, is probably best described as Territory management or territory sales management. If you need to fill something else and are frustrated because people just don't have the desire or ethic, all I need is a chance. Let's chat... in person.

Meanwhile, I am still interested in any comments on elections and current events. What are you concerned about? What is your issue? WWIII? Who, what?

Did I tell you I have a plan I hope to roll out when I am ready? Would you like to be a part of that plan? If you would consider it, reach out to me. I am not ready to roll it out in a huge way yet but would love to chat with anyone about it!
